Weather, Accommodations, and Equipment

Troutfitters strongly advises all fishermen to come prepared for weather extremes ranging between 40 degrees F and 80 degrees F.  Western Montana can expeerience rapid weather change, especially through mid-July.  We suggest you come prepared with the following:  cold-weather clothing (including fisherman's gloves) as well as 'insect-proof' warm-weather clothing.  Don't forget your waders, rain gear, sunscreen, summer hat, sunglasses and any special medication you may require.

Troutfitters has 2 guest houses that sleep 4 very comfortably.  They have full kitchens, screened in porches, satellite tv, 2 bedrooms with twin beds and 2 bathrooms.  We soon will have for rent a large new cedar lendal home that will sleep 8.

Troutfitters uses only the finest boats and equipment money can buy.  All our boats are of inflatable design, offering excellent maneuverability in the low water months.  All our guides are licensed by the State of Montana and boast many years of experience.  It is our desire that you not only have an enjoyable trip, but especially a safe one.

Early and late season float fishing trips can be a rewarding experience.  Most rivers in the area are open to fishing year-round.  The late Fall fishing on the Big Hole, Beaverhead and Jefferson rivers can only be described as Outstanding.
